A Method to Reduce Boundary Regions in Three-Way Decision Theory

چکیده
A method for dealing the boundary region in three-way decision theory is proposed. In the three-way decision theory, all the elements are divided into three regions: positive region, negative region and boundary region. Positive region makes a decision of acceptance, negative region makes a decision of rejection. They can generate certain rules. However, boundary region makes a decision of abstaining. They generate uncertain rule. In classification, we always do with the boundary region. In this paper, we propose a method based on tri-training algorithm to reduce the boundary region. In the tri-training algorithm, we build up three classifiers based on three-way decision. We divide all the data into three parts randomly, aiming to keep the three classifiers different. We adopt a voting mechanism to label test samples. Experiments have shown that in most cases, tri-training algorithm is not only benefit for reducing boundary regions but also for improving classification precision. We also find some rules about the parameters alpha and beta how to affect boundary regions and classification precision.

S-APPROXIMATION SPACES: A FUZZY APPROACH
In this paper, we study the concept of S-approximation spaces in fuzzy set theory and investigate its properties. Along introducing three pairs of lower and upper approximation operators for fuzzy S-approximation spaces, their properties under different assumptions, e.g. monotonicity and weak complement compatibility are studied. By employing two thresholds for minimum acceptance accuracy and m...
متن کاملThree-way decisions with probabilistic rough sets
The rough set theory approximates a concept by three regions, namely, the positive, boundary and negative regions. Rules constructed from the three regions are associated with different actions and decisions, which immediately leads to the notion of three-way decision rules. A positive rule makes a decision of acceptance, a negative rule makes a decision of rejection, and a boundary rule makes ...
متن کاملThree-Way Decision: An Interpretation of Rules in Rough Set Theory
A new interpretation of rules in rough set theory is introduced. According to the positive, boundary, and negative regions of a set, one can make a three-way decision: accept, abstain and reject. The three regions enable us to derive three types of decision rules, namely, positive rules for acceptance, boundary rules for indecision or delayed decision, and negative rules for rejection. Within t...

متن کاملOn Approximate Stationary Radial Solutions for a Class of Boundary Value Problems Arising in Epitaxial Growth Theory
In this paper, we consider a non-self-adjoint, singular, nonlinear fourth order boundary value problem which arises in the theory of epitaxial growth. It is possible to reduce the fourth order equation to a singular boundary value problem of second order given by w''-1/r w'=w^2/(2r^2 )+1/2 λ r^2. The problem depends on the parameter λ and admits multiple solutions. Therefore, it is difficult to...
